Cliffs of Moher

This is a place of great beauty and tranquility, where the visitor can refresh their spirits away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. For some it is the centre of music and merriment. For others it is a base from which to explore a magnificent part of Ireland. It is a paradise for geologists, botanists, ornithologist, speleologist and walkers. Local activities include ferry trips to the Aran Islands and along the Cliffs of Moher, golf at Lahinch famous links course, pitch & putt, fishing, caving, walking, cycling, abseiling, horse-riding, surfing, scuba diving, canoeing and bird watching.

The Cliffs of Moher

The world renowned Cliffs of Moher are only 5 minutes away. With its breath-taking views it remains one of Ireland's most popular tourist attractions.You can walk along the clifftop, explore the visitor center or experience the cliffs from the sea on the boats which depart from Liscannor and Doolin harbours.

The Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk connects the villages of Liscannor and Doolin, via the Cliffs of Moher. This stunningly beautiful trail of medium to high difficulty and 20km length takes about 5 hrs. to complete in full. A shorter option, the Guerin's path, starts not far from our B&B. Excellent for hikers and walkers who want to experience a bit of adventure tackling the Cliff Walk, for families with young children, for pensioners for whom strenuous walking is difficult and those in need of wheelchair accessibility to reach the cliffs in a quick and easy way.

Liscannor

Sights include a medieval church and the remains of a castle built by the O'Connors and stronghold of the O'Briens. John B.Holland, inventor of the submarine, was born in Liscannor!
You'll find a good selection of recommended restaurants, pubs and hotels in the village - less than 10 mins. from our house.

Lahinch

Lahinch

is a busy seaside town with excellent shops, restaurants and an Art Gallery. The wonderful beach and promenade are full of atmosphere and fun during the Summer months.This beach is a mecca for surfers and it offers ideal conditions for this sport. The long, sandy beach is also perfect for those who like a long beach walk and for swimmers. A lifeguard is on duty during the summer months.

Doolin

Doolin

is a great fishing village and just 10 Minutes away. It has long been associated with great Irish music sessions, and was home to a great traditional Irish whistle player, the late Micko Russell. A visit to the Aran Islands is an unforgetable trip which you shouldn't miss. Boats leave several times daily from Doolin Pier.

Poulnabrone Dolmen The Burren

The Burren

This fine example of a karstic terrain is famous worldwide because of a remarkable flora which can be found in its limestone landscapes as well as its rich archaeological heritage. The area hosts 70 wedge-tombs (the most famous of them being Poulnabrone), ring forts, caves (most notable Aillwee Cave and Doolin Cave) castles (Leamenagh Castle) and a network of field walls and hut circles. You can drive in and around the Burren on several roads, but the best way to really experience it is by foot or by bicycle! The green roads are the old Burren roads and are perfect to explore this landscape on short and long walks.
